Naturally sustainable
Long before sustainability was on everyone's lips, we intuitively began to operate sustainably.
Our production has been CO2-neutral since 2015 and we pay attention to resource-saving processes in all areas. In 2022, our entire product range was awarded the Cradle to Cradle Gold environmental certificate. The internationally recognized seal of approval confirms environmental compatibility in five categories. This gives planners and builders the certainty that GODELMANN bricks contribute to more environmentally friendly construction. Our product innovation GDM.KLIMASTEIN makes a proactive contribution to the sponge city principle and helps to reclaim the soil as a natural resource. We will receive the GREEN AWARD for this in 2023. As a pioneer of transformation, we will receive the German Sustainability Award 2024

Becoming Europe's greenest concrete block plant is a major goal that spurs us on to give our best every day.
In 1947, Karl Godelmann founded a concrete plant for concrete block products in Hiltersdorf. In doing so, he laid the foundation stone for our family business, the core of which is still sustainable concrete block products to this day.
At that time implicitly, today quite explicitly, GODELMANN's corporate and sustainability strategies are directly interlinked. We produce our concrete blocks with an ever-increasing proportion of recycled concrete and use 100% renewable energy in production.
Not least because of this, sustainability in its ecological, social and economic dimensions is inextricably linked to our business model. We are convinced that we can only achieve long-term business success with satisfied customers, healthy and motivated employees and ambitious goals for environmental and climate protection. This results in a far-reaching responsibility that we have taken very seriously for four generations.
GODELMANN is a pioneer and trailblazer when it comes to the circular economy. Since 2021, our entire product range has been Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold.
We recycle more concrete blocks than any other company in Germany and have an analytical laboratory in which the final block quality is monitored and checked in addition to the quality of the recycled raw materials.
