Parking lots for retail or event facilities, industry or commerce seal large areas. Sealing means that rainwater can no longer seep away on site, but flows into the sewage system. As a result, it is removed from groundwater recharge. At the same time, the sealing of surfaces changes the radiation and heat balance. Temperatures rise substantially during the course of the day and year over dark sealed surfaces. It is therefore important how such surfaces are designed. Ecological paving has less impact on the environment than large areas of asphalted parking lots.
The darker a covering is, the higher the heat build-up in summer. This is not only unpleasant for users, but also for any plants used and the microclimate in the surrounding area. Blacktop is therefore worse than light-colored concrete block coverings. Water-permeable and greenable coverings, or GDM.KLIMASTEIN, evaporate moisture just like plants and thus cool the surroundings.
The symbol plate makes it easy to mark parking spaces for cars. Various symbols are available, such as a wheelchair symbol for disabled parking spaces, a large P or a symbol for electric cars. The plates can be flexibly integrated into the floor coverings.
