Coop Supermarket, Aadorf (CH)
Large food retailers are increasingly concerned with the environment. This refers to ecologically oriented building concepts, as in the case of the modernized Coop store in Aadorf, a municipality in the canton of Thurgau. The supermarket is now insulated to the Swiss Minergie standard (similar to a passive house) and is powered by photovoltaic systems on the roof. Progress in front of the doors too: parking is on infiltration and evaporation-active paving with integrated pollutant retention. An additional function for groundwater protection.
