Fire station, Tirschenreuth
When the fire department goes out on a call, it's usually with force. No different in Tirschenreuth with the new fire station, which was inaugurated in May 2019 and received the Upper Palatinate regional award for high-quality architecture two years later. The planners responded to the high shear forces in the area of the fire station with heavy-duty paving in a load-bearing elbow bond. The paving stones have an interlocking system with a force-fit bond effect on the surface. Horizontal and vertical forces are distributed across the pavement and then transferred to the subsoil.
