If the Couch stands for a good living room, then in the north of Potsdam on the Bornstedter Feld development site. A young district is flourishing on the former military site, which needed an urban center, i.e. a neighborhood square. The competition jury voted for a "good and balanced" open space design, which is rounded off by a 33 m long wooden bench. The so-called Bornstedter Kanapee is a pronounced invitation to linger and, together with the plank-like paving, conveys something of a living room atmosphere.
