The vibrant traffic circle at Vienna North station brings together motor vehicles, rapid transit and subway trains, streetcars and buses under one roof. After a long period of planning and many major construction sites, the functional and design deficiencies have now largely been remedied. The western forecourt at the Admiral Tegetthoff memorial was designed with a filigree glass roof and SCADA panels in the railroad system. With a thickness of 18 cm and a composite effect, the surface covering reacts to the dynamic loads. The special color scheme of the large formats between grey and green gives the square an unmistakable identity.
