Station surroundings, Brandenburg an der Havel
With its railroad station, the people of Brandenburg an der Havel can now once again host a major railroad station, also with a view to the 2015 Federal Garden Show. The city set the course for the redesign of the entire area based on the winning design by the open space planners. The historic façade of the station building was retained, while the interior was given a contemporary look with a shopping arcade, customer center and amenities. The apron was also raised so that the station is now barrier-free. The square design is accentuated by a bright GDM.SCADA pavement, which is continued opposite at the new city entrance in the sense of a spatial network. A relief showing the silhouette of the city is incorporated into the paving.
