Founded in 1994 as a university of applied sciences, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology has since grown. The latest boost came with the so-called Transfer Center for Technology and Innovation as the fifth and final component of the extensions. In contrast to the introverted habitus of the existing buildings, the planners organized the new addition as a lively interplay of building and area architecture with well-proportioned plazas. Each courtyard was given its own character.
