The urban redevelopment in Constance is making visible progress, especially in the Petershausen district. There, the city authorities have set the course for a prosperous quarter on a freight station wasteland. More than 1,800 people now live and work there. Among them are around 140 students in a hall of residence on the Quartiersplatz, which was created on an underground parking garage with a height-modeled structure for planting trees. Mounds of perennials with surrounding benches and light-colored surfaces provide the open space with a pleasant atmosphere.
