Zwicky Areal, Wallisellen (CH)
The municipality of Wallisellen in the north-east of Zurich was the scene of lively construction activity until 2018. The focus was on the former factory site of the traditional silk twisting mill Zwicky & Co. from 1840, on which a new quarter for living and working was gradually maturing. Today, the central construction site is home to an ensemble of interrelated existing and new buildings with pleasant open spaces and great potential as a district center. The paving, designed in a woven pattern, reflects a long piece of contemporary and local history.
