At "Haus des Lehrers", Berlin

For some time now, architects and investors have had a number of tower construction projects in the pipeline for Berlin's Alexanderplatz. In contrast, the old "square stags" such as the so-called Haus des Lehrers seem manageable. After all, the 12-storey building designed by Hermann Henselmann and completed in 1964 was the first high-rise on "Alex". Its immediate neighbor is the dome-roofed Congress Hall, which houses the Berlin Congress Center. The listed ensemble was renovated at the beginning of 2000 and has recently been given a new forecourt design.
