Bartholomew Square, Vienna (AT)

The construction task was to create a high-quality urban space with clear priorities for pedestrians. Today's spacious appearance is characterized by light and dark cladding with DUROSAVE depth protection. The entrance is emphasized by XXL exposed concrete slabs in a cross-joint bond. The two orthogonal fields were given basalt-colored bands and frieze-like edging. The planners also regulated the steep gradient on the church forecourt with a step system with custom-made components. The tree grates, also handcrafted in the refined materiality of the paving, completed the urban gem.
