In the Leipzig region, the former open-cast lignite mine is gradually being transformed into a picturesque water sports landscape. In around two years' time, a new sailing area will be created on Lake Störmthal, and the harbor, complete with slipway and dolphins for mooring boats, has already been completed. The highlight of the facility is the 170 m long and 4.5 m high harbor wall, built extremely practically and economically with GDM.ALLAN block stones, gravel and Huesker geogrids. The imposing structure derives its stability solely from the plastic-reinforced earth and its own weight - concrete and mortar work are completely superfluous here.
