With the redesign of the bus station, the Upper Bavarian town has given the entire area around the town hall an open profile. A long, light roof emphasizes the edge of the town and marks the central traffic hub. The central island below provides space and shelter for 10 buses and up to 1,000 schoolchildren. The forecourt of the city hall can be used as an extended foyer in the evening. This variety of uses is emphasized by the high-quality surfacing of the square made of large-format rectangular slabs. The thickness of the slabs varies between 16 cm under traffic load and 8 cm on the central island. The GDM.RIPPENPLATTE ensures barrier-free platform use. The Bavarian Chamber of Architects recognized the award-winning project by including it in the "Architektouren 2010".
