Retirement home at Hubland, Würzburg
A good 50 years after its opening, the senior citizens' residential complex at Hubland in Würzburg was once again facing extensive construction work. The nursing home was extended to include four residential communities for residents suffering from dementia and the outdated nursing wards were modernized with smaller, light-flooded living areas with decentralized communal rooms. The focus was also on upgrading the outdoor facilities in favor of passive recreation and social interaction on the outdoor terrace of the "Café Klatsch".
