Saint-Denis - Pleyel station is the new landmark and a central connection point between the city center and the north. Saint-Denis - Pleyel is the only station in the Grand Paris Express network that can transport more than 250,000 passengers a day.
After more than seven years of construction, work on Porte Maillot is nearing completion. Porte Maillot is an important transport hub in the 16th arrondissement, which today includes an RER train station, a subway and suburban train station, a bus station and the "Palais de Congrès" congress center. At the same time, Porte Maillot is one of the most important "entrances" to Paris and has undergone an impressive metamorphosis in recent years, both above and below ground, in terms of forward-looking and sustainable urban design.
The new "Bridge" headquarters of the French telephone company Orange is located in front of the Île Saint-Germain and borders a public pedestrian area on the banks of the Seine. The design by Jean-Paul Viguier et Associés of Altarea Cogedim is based on the vision of the office of tomorrow: a place that promotes and strengthens teamwork, innovation and collaboration.
The Boieldieu Terraces in the Parisian banking and high-rise district of La Défense have come a long way. Built in the 1960s, the surfaces and waterproofing of the elevated pedestrian zone were recently in a desolate state. In addition, the approximately 16,000 square meter traffic area was anything but barrier-free. It took two years to rejuvenate the new urban flooring, including smart street lighting and additional green spaces that make living between the office building and shopping center more pleasant.
BUGA Mannheim had set itself the goal of becoming the most sustainable Federal Garden Show. Spinelli Park, originally a former military area, was transformed into a spacious and diverse green space as part of BUGA23. This transformation was carried out with sustainability, ecological diversity and social inclusion in mind. The four key themes of the BUGA (climate, environment, energy and food security) are most clearly reflected in the experimental field in Spinelli Park: jagged edges of the paving and ice floes cast in concrete mark the climate area.
Under the motto "Growing together", the Bavarian State Garden Show is taking place in Kirchheim this year. The new local park covers an area of more than ten hectares. In the course of the State Garden Show, the previously agriculturally used areas were transformed into a liveable and versatile park that will be permanently preserved.
Beelitz is known nationwide as a town of asparagus. The Beelitz 2022 State Garden Show was therefore held under the motto "Garden festival for all the senses". This theme was the common thread running through the exhibitions and events: Beelitz and the region invited visitors to celebrate, enjoy and feast for an entire summer.
As part of the IBA Heidelberg (International Building Exhibition), a new type of green space for movement was created on a former military site in the southern part of the city. "The Other Park" combines the existing park with new developments on an area of six hectares. Residents will find play and event areas, sports facilities and relaxing oases of peace. The green space offers a fascinating contrast to the historic surroundings and is a prime example of contemporary design in public space.
